Allow me to paint a picture; Imagine that you are on-board the Titanic on the night of its maiden voyage. Then surprise, a huge whirlwind starts to blow across the sea; swaying the ship to the left and right. Panic and anxiety sweep over you, the ship threatens to break in two and no rescue in sight. You see women and children falling overboard into the cold icy waters of the Pacific Ocean with deafening screams for help. Suddenly Jesus shows up, He reaches out to you with his hands stretched towards you. He says be still, do not be afraid for it is I. Calm returns to the ship and then there is resounding hope all around. Brethren one thing is certain, the events that occurred on the maiden voyage of the Titanic would have been different if Jesus had been on-board the ship on that tragic night.

The disciples of Jesus Christ found themselves in a similar situation on the lake of Galilee. Here is how the scripture reported it in (Mark 4:35-41):
“That day when evening came, He said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side”. Leaving the crowd behind, they took Him along, just as He was, in the boat . There were also other boats with Him. A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over all the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke Him and said to Him., “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?” He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet ! Be still! Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?”
They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!”
There is an open invitation from the master to take walk with Him to the other side, won’t you take His hands? He loves you so much that he does not want to see you in damnation but have a fulfilling and eternal life with him; he will guide your affairs as you trust in him and will shelter you in every storm.
Note: “I said in every storm” irrespective of global or local issues- Our Christian walk is never without trials for our victory can only come when we overcome (Revelation 3:21). Storms are likely to breakout every now and again but if we pick up the cross and follow Jesus Christ (Matthew 16:24-26) we can be rest assured that He will be our shelter through every storm. He is the LORD of every storm. Our Rock of Ages.
If you are yet to accept His invitation, think about this, you are like a man who has no insurance. When the storm comes, you are left vulnerable because you have no cover. Jesus wants to be your insurance, not just in this life but for all eternity. The time is short and His return is imminent. Brethren, where would you rather spend your eternity?
Prayer: Ask for mercy for your sins and ask that He comes into your life as Lord and Master. Thank Him for accepting you into His family. Find a bible believing Church and continue to live in Christ. God bless you as you do so.
